Jared & Jen are Married :: Part I

Almost 2 months to the day, and I am once again back at the beautiful O'Connor Farm to photograph the union of 2 very dear people.  I consider this place to be a magical little oasis, with surrounding farmland in every direction.  The weather was glorious, the majority of details chosen by the bride (Grimm and Hoof Hearted beer with fun, custom beer koozies for guests, a Harry Potter nod, a first dance song rendition by Noah Reid: Simply the Best.  If you don't know this version or where it's from, I encourage look it up!, Mario Vans courtesy the new husband), a dress & velvet jacket I would have wanted to slip into had it been my own wedding, and killer wood fire pizza courtesy Orapello's and insanely delicious pies by The Flour Girl Bakeshop.  This bride and groom are just my kind of people!

In the image above, they are sitting on the steps of the home where Jared grew up.  It also happens to be the same steps where they exchanged their vows.  We used these steps to make some images for their Engagement Session, and later in the evening of their wedding day, we revisited these same steps to "recreate" some of the poses.  So these steps are pretty dang important, and will infamously be known as the 'I Do' steps!

This was my one and only wedding of 2020.  This year has offered up many challenges, but has also brought forth some of the most important things in life we may have taken for granted.  It has fine-tuned our vision.  Slowing down and taking a step back has afforded an "exhale."  This wedding is proof that there are still pockets of magic and reason for celebration (even with an altered guest list size: keeping under 50 guests per CDC guidelines; and hand sanitizer & masks at the ready for everyone's safety).

This couple chose a First Look, which mean's they had a reveal before their ceremony.  And one bridesmaid from Florida tuned in via FaceTime, because the traveling and quarantining limitations made it impossible for her to physically be there that day.  In all, the day was a huge success, at least from my view behind the lens.  When you get toe the end of this blog, be sure to click on the hyperlink which will take to you Part II, because once you dive in, you'll want to see it through to its end.

So much love to you both as your story continues to be written.

xoxo
