Holy Cow, Shane is 1!

I adore callbacks!  And this little DocuPlaydate sesh is just that!  Caitlin texted me, a little out of the blue, and said "hey, we added another son to our family, and he will be turning one.  Any interest in documenting this milestone?"  OF COURSE I WOULD!!!  Shane had a 1st Birthday party that was themed:  "Holy Cow, Shane is 1!"  She incorporated some of those elements in this session (cow-print blanket, cow-print block letters that spell O-N-E, black balloons, and the reappearance of a white tent - which is older brother, Keegan's). 

In our exchange, she alerted me to how similar the two boys looked at the same age/stage.  When I arrived at their home, and turned the corner to where Shane was sitting, it was like complete déjà vu.  It was as if Shane had stolen Keegan's face, which was so uncanny!  Genetics are strong, and I know families that can have siblings that resemble one another more than (fraternal) twins.  The likeness was mind-blowing!  Another baldy with white-blonde hair and bright blue eyes... so stinkin' adorable.   

This session was a bit of a mash-up of trying to capture just Shane, as his 1-year-old self, but also heavy on the Family Lifestyle documentation that I'm known for.  There is no shortage of imaginative play (dress-up, toddler camera that actually makes digital images, T-Rex nibbling a toe, balloon chasing, etc.) and snacking.  Having photos is tiring business... so there needed to be some nibbles in between (toast & jam, oatmeal, Goldfish).  

Eventually, Shane went down for his mid-morning nap, so I wrapped up the session with just Keegan.  (Thank you for letting me read Pickle Things to you, Keegan, after I put my camera away).  Getting on the floor and just hanging out with a family, camera in hand, is always the best.  This little collection is a reminder of the fun we had.  Enjoy! xoxo
