Another Fun Year With The Richards Family

This family -- they have my heart!  I love my yearly session with the Richards crew.  They are an easy family to document, laughter & tears and all!  This session was bumped 4 times, yes you heard me, FOUR TIMES, because of the rainy Fall.  What originally started out as an idea of a Summer session, ended up being a September session on the books, which turned into an October session, and then finally a November 4th session!  (Thankfully the temps played nice that day)!

The image above is quite recognizable... as it is the pergola in Yaddo Gardens.  We spent the past couple of years at Hovey Pond Park, and decided a change of scenery was due!  Please enjoy the images below, and I will do a bit of backstory telling along the way....

(On a side note from weather conflict, recognizable spaces, laughter and tears, this Mama has been spending this past year transforming herself!  I have been following her Instagram posts.... and I sincerely believe she should become a Life Coach (or Personal Trainer).  Her positivity and sheer will are extraordinary!  All of these days which have turned into weeks and then months have allowed Jennifer to concentrate on her mind, body and spirit!  She kicks some serious ass!!  And the results have been radiance, inside and out)!

Off to a happy start....

These iconic trellis doors have been photographed SO MANY TIMES by so many people.  The light hitting Becks is magnificent!  And how about those fiery late Fall colors?!

Below is my favorite photo!  So much so, that I offered it in b&w and in color!

The photo above and below are relatable!  How many Moms & Dads, who try to sneak in a kiss or an embrace, are bombarded by your littles?!  This happens All. The. Time. in my own home.  Kids just don't like to share their Moms and Dads, even for a moment!

And this running incident is where things take a small turn....

Rylee somehow ran into my the camera strapped below my waist.  It was a sad moment (with some tears).  Plus, she was just getting over a cold (or coming down with one), so she was feeling a little off, in addition.

The best Mama kisses are the ones that heal!

Just a nice peaceful moment of a family huddling in a forest of trees with some pretty incredible lighting.

Be still!

Shaking off the tears with a little bit of alone time.

This usually has water running through it.  Such a different vibe this time of year (water fountains winterized and covered up for the Northeastern season).

And we're back!  The silly Ryles that we all know and love!!

Love this next sequence!

Dramatic side lighting!  Who needs studio lighting when you have the sun!

Apparently, Becks needed some lip gloss (which she pulled from her pocket) for this next round of images lol!  The unscripted sisters kiss is epic!

For these next images... it is completely document-worthy!  However (full disclosure), their Mama told them NOT to be throwing stones.  Wonderful expressions captured, and no one lost an eye.  That was the one moment, as they left the stones alone after that, as they were told.

I'm not exactly sure what happened here.  But somehow, Becks ended up on the ground in tears.

When a child cries it's "funny-not-funny."  But mostly funny lol!  I'm one of those parents... and it looks like Joe & Jennifer are, too!

Sad the photographer is continuing the document (I think)!

All is well again -- lip gloss makes everything better!  I suggested they give each other a smooch.  And this is what happened....

More tears!!!  Let the wailing commence....

Until next year....

The End
